What is STIHL TIMBERSPORTS®?

STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® is considered the major worldwide league of lumberjack sports, attracting highly-skilled athletes to compete with axes and saws. TIMBERSPORTS® consists of six disciplines, three using an axe – Springboard, Standing Block Chop and Underhand Chop – and three using a saw – Stock Saw, Single Buck and Hot Saw. The Series started 35 years ago in the USA and arrived in Britain in 2012 with the country’s first British Championship. Lumberjack sports origins go back to 19th century Australia where foresters would compete with each other outside work, putting their forestry skills to the test.

And what about TIMBERSPORTS® in Great Britain?

There have been TIMBERSPORTS® competitions in Britain since 2012, and this year Royal Three Counties Show is hosting the 9th British Championships.

We are also delighted to host the 7th British Rookie Championship and the first ever British Women's Championship.
