New Education Executive Joins Three Counties

Three Counties is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Harwood-Browne as Education Executive.

Three Counties, based at Three Counties Showground in Malvern, produces and hosts an annual programme of top quality horticultural and agricultural events including RHS Malvern Spring Festival, Royal Three Counties Show and Malvern Autumn Show. Mark’s role is to lead on the educational aspects of the events and educational activities of the Three Counties to achieve the charitable remit to promote agriculture, horticulture and arboriculture within the three counties.

Ken Nottage, CEO of Three Counties, said: “We are delighted that Mark has taken on the challenge of expanding our educational activities at Three Counties. Mark brings with him a wealth of experience in the education sector and we are all looking forward to working with him.”

Mark’s interest in the outdoors started at a young age when at four he successfully got his first cutting to root. From this his interest grew in horticulture and went on to study for his degree at Pershore College. In 2000 Mark won the prestigious annual competition Young Horticulturalist of the Year, awarded by The Institute of Horticulture.

After college Mark worked at several garden centres before moving into education. From 2004 Mark taught horticulture at Hartpury College, ultimately becoming Head of Horticulture, looking after the College’s horticultural courses and the 200 acre amenity estate and sports pitches.

In addition to Marks teaching qualification he also gained an MA in Lifelong Learning, and is currently working towards his MBA, although taking a year or two out before starting his dissertation.

Speaking of his appointment, Mark said: ‘I am looking forward to expanding the educational content of the Three Counties events and fulfilling the charitable and educational aims of the Agricultural Society. I am excited about being part of the teams that deliver such renowned shows and about promoting the land based industries of the three counties area, which I am so passionate about.’
